Data you can check
Sales tools ask you to trust their numbers. Patency shows you where every one came from.
Where the data comes from
Patency starts from public federal healthcare data, including Medicare utilization and the national provider registry. Licensed sources will be added under agreements that allow their use in the product, and every figure will say which source it came from.
Four kinds of numbers, always labeled
Every figure in Patency is marked as one of four kinds.
- Observed.Reported directly by the source.
- Derived.Calculated from observed data with a stated method.
- Modeled. An estimate, labeled as an estimate wherever it appears.
- Synthetic.Demonstration data only. Always visibly marked and never presented as real.
Dated and attributed
Affiliations and memberships show when they were true and which source says so. When a source doesn’t publish a value, Patency says it wasn’t published. It never shows a zero or a guess.
What we won’t do
- Show a number without its source.
- Present an estimate as a fact.
- Collect or display patient-identifiable information.
- Use data outside the terms we licensed it under.
- Let the AI type a number the data didn’t produce.
